Volunteer Program

Youth Mentorship Program

The Youth Mentorship Program (YMP) at CCVT is open for all newcomer youth aged 12-25 years old. This program supports youth who are looking to make new friends, learn more about the Canadian culture, learn new and exciting things and have fun. Throughout the year, the youth will be matched with a local volunteer in the community who will mentor and help them to achieve their goals. Mentees and mentors are matched based on common interest, geographic proximity, and areas of need as well as similar gender. Both mentees and mentors will also be able to participate in workshops and events throughout the year that will focus on the areas of employment /entrepreneurship, educational achievement, and civic engagement/ leadership.

The Youth Mentorship program is always in demand of volunteers.  To become a Youth Mentor you must be at least 21 years of age, reside in the GTA, agree to a one-year commitment (at least 4 hours a month) and be willing to complete the required documentation (including police clearance) as well as participate in training.

If you wish to apply to become a mentor, please fill out our volunteer application form here:

My mentor is great, I can talk to him about anything and we usually are able to see eye to eye about things and he gives good constructive feedback

I have had my mentor from July 2017. It’s been more than a year and we still meet often, most times it’s for more than the required 4 hours per month

My relationship with my mentor is going so good, she helps me lots and I’m so lucky to have her as a mentorship, a counselor and friend. Thanks.
